Such sad news, I was watching the original on TV when it started to pop up. I had to turn off the TV... There are multiple pictures and a video of the accident here:

Crazy part is a friend of mine knows him, he and his wife went to the meet and saw Paul there, his wife finally got to take a picture with Paul as they were leaving, which was right before it happened. I crossed paths with him at a track event a few years ago when my buddy was racing at Auto Club Speedway, and a few times when he ran in Redline Time Attack for AE and was a pretty good driver and a chill guy. RIP

Damn I'm usually not one to be even a little concerned with celebrity deaths, but I grew up on F+F... it's what made me interested in imports. Paul was a huge inspiration off the set too man.

All the evidence says it's not, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's a hoax.

Carrera GT's do not have a good history in the crash department. Like I posted earlier Porsche stopped making them after 2 years because owners were killing themselves with them.
They are not easy to drive cars. They are somewhat diabolical in less than super experienced drivers hands.

Carrera GT's are different cars than GT3's GT3's are 911 variants, Carrera GT is a completely different.

Oh and a big price difference as well a GT3 will not set you back $450,000. Yup close to half a mil.

I'm sort of ashamed to admit it, but the original two fast and the furious movies did sort of introduce cars being cool to me, when I was a little kid and all the real cars I knew where bland and utilitarian and slow.

So yeah, RIP.
