I'm in the market to purchase a trailer for my 240 as it's sole purpose is to be track only now. I'm curious as to what size trailer you guys use? What works best to get a very low car onto your trailer?



This was my car before it was finished. It kept getting the exhaust stuck just past the ramps. Now the car is about 2inches lower with smaller tires. This was a friends trailer that I won't be using again however. It is 7 1/2 wide, 18ft long. 15ft deck. Tandem axle, electronic brakes

I just have a standard flat bed just like that, made by eagle trailer. Here in Seattle WA.
I went to home depot and got their 2x20? I think? I just eye balled it, had them cut it to 2 feet/1 feet/6 inches, stacked them all on top of each other grabbed some deck screws and buttoned them all up.
Trow those under the trailers ramps and all I have to do is remove the front bumper and bam drives right on.
For example this is my car I put on it. Motor is not in.

Nice! We used stacked wood and such but I guess I'll just have to make some good long ramps.

What do you think is a fair price to pay for a trailer like these? I'm seeing around $12-1500 with a title

That air ride trailer is dope. But I'm sure the price tag.... Yeah. And no way I would be that ghetto about towing my car. That's just stupid.

the only down-side to flat towing is the car has to be registered. not gonna work on a track only car.

There are many many downsides. Wear and tear on tires/wheels/suspension/trans/diff. At that point I would drive the car...

What would be the ideal sized trail for a 240? And I don't know anything about winches yet. Good brands?

"Ideal: would be 18ft minimum.. 20 foot preferred for tires, jack, etc etc.


I personally use a 24 foot enclosed, no wood needed, more secure, keeps you out of the weather, etc.

Ok cool I'll probably be fine with 18ft open then. I can toss everything else in the back of my truck and with the west coast we don't really have much weather other than sunshine hahah

I have a Carson Dovetail Trailer with 8 foot ramps and also put ramps under the rear tire on the truck to make the rear of the trailer lower. Still scraps the exhaust pretty good.

Just get a regular open trailer and make custom ramps for it.

You can even buy smaller tires for the trailer which helps slightly. This depends on condition of current tires.

The bigger your budget, the easier is it load a car. I.E. enclosed trailer.

We use the 2pc race ramps on our trailer for our track cars. You can pretty much get anything on a trailer with them. Highly recommended!


As for the trailer, anything over 18ft is really nice so you can lug around tires and tools.
