4-way RTX 3090 benchmarks. Performance seems to scale pretty well.
https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/ar...-it-work-1935/ Gonna have to sell the Nissan or one of my kidneys to afford a 4-way rig! |

Benching for waitmarks
However, lately the companies have been pretty solid with benches. This leaves room for Nvidia to launch a 3080ti at 899 to undercut the 6900XT. Other than rocket lake next year which is likely going to be a refresh what are yall going to be building?

I'd personally hold on to my 8700k w 1080ti a little longer and just upgrade to a pair of samsung 980pro because I'm cheap.
If I did have to build something, Id say a build around amd 5800x cpu and 6800xt gpu looking like the best value right now, pending reviews. would be fantastic for a 2k budget. geez even a 5900x and 6900xt would be barely more than a 3090 alone. that would make a great $3k build. 3080ti might undercut the 6900xt, but doubtful it's going to leave it in the dust. 2021 & 22 could be an interesting years. have faith nvidia will put up a good fight. |

If you're ever in New England, swing by and nerd out. I just hooked one of my Acer Predators to the computer for working/playing tasks, another for console playing [the BenQ was hooked to the PC in this pictures just to get the computer software uploaded]. The whole setup soup to nuts was around $10,000? Built the computer, monitors, rig, VR setup, etc. Thank god I sold the spare Z I had.

I'm never going to be the guy that goes with a specific brand and will defend it to the death. That's more for people who give a shit about politics and will defend their agenda until they die. With PC builds, I simply buy whatever the best item is at the time. When I built my PC a few weeks ago, I compiled the best items I could get. Could I have waited and got something 'team red?' Sure. I think the whole PC feud shit is stupid. I SUPPORT both companies hashing it out. This makes them have a reason to keep making something better than the other and back and forth. While R&D departments within both companies are working their fingers to the bone, me as a fan of technology will always applaud the 'next big thing.' Not really aimed at anyone but glad to see AMD making something that will force Intel to fire back on.

I’m with you on that. never understood hostile fanboy thing. some of the tech forums are beyond dramatic. with politics I get it and have more empathy. with this whole amd vs nvidia/intel thing its like finding an excuse to be pissed off about anything. very very pathetic.

I’m glad they are taking the fight to Intel. Competition drives innovation.
I ran AMD gpu’s until I decided to go high end and at the time they didn’t have anything to compete at the high end. Same CPU. Now I’m considering doing an all red high end build. Of course it will depend on how the benchmarks are for the new cards and how stable they are.

I'm looking forward to see benchmarks for big navi w/out ryzen 5000 series. then compare to ampere gpus. trying not to spend so much and rather upgrade.

I am pretty sure I went the semi-most high end within reason for what you'd expect in a gaming/working rig. Of course, there is shit that is stupid money for no real reason but I think this rig will last me at least 3-5 years before the next one.
