SR20DET tick when off

Ticking sound, almost like the solenoid for the starter when you battery is dead, but only about 2 a second. Ticking stops immediately when battery is disconnected, and restarts when connected. Sound is coming from around the intake plenum, somewhere just below the fuel rail. Sound stops when car is put in the "ON" key position, and once started, the sound returns.

Thought it was the injectors at first, unplugged them to no avail.
Same thing for the starter.

Greddy intake, SARD 550cc injectors if that matters
AEM S2 just threw in with a new flash VVT system on it are disabled.

*UPDATE* So seems like messing with the settings has gotten it to stop while its running, and also in the on and acc positions, but it still ticks away while its off.

I ended up getting the source to the VVT/VCT area I believe. Its under the intake plenum kinda between cylinders 1 and 2.
