but, i was wondering, if you are in the military and your stationed somewhere, lets say japan (tee-hee), what do you military personel do when youre not actually @ war? what are your duties and how often must you fulfill them?

You go to work and do your job, the same thing you do during war. When you go to the desert you are still doing the same job you do at your home base.
