No, you should definitely worry, because you can't pass smog without a catalytic converter. Here in Indiana the lack of a cat is automatic fail, don't know about Cali, but I would assume it's the same.

Not at all! It just means that you are pushing out more emissions than the gov't and environmentalist want you to. Having a bigger exhaust will always push more CO2 and H2O out than if you had stock. Also Cat deletes will trip up there system hardcore and fail you. I don't have to worry about this because I live in MN. So I have 0 Cats on mine. lol.

Sorry but a Tanabe cat back does have a cat so visual is fine. So I wouldn't trip him up about it. You'll be fine. Just don't tweak out or anything like that. And defiantly don't go doped up. lol

Also, A cold air intake or any sort of intake flow wont have any dramatic affect if any at all on emissions because of the way a cold air intake works on an N/A vehicle. It actually might decrease CO2 emissions because of a cleaner burn??? doubt that one though.

just to keep you guys updated, I PASSED!
ryguy is right, all i said was cat. But A PUNK is too, with the Tanabe exhaust, the original catalytic converter is still there. I just filled it up yesterday along with some fuel injector cleaner, drove it around this morning for about an hour (i had to pick up and drop off my girlfriend at work anyways). With my injen CAI! yes it is dyno approved, but still! Good day so far |

I did, and yes. It does significantly reduce co2 emissions because the way a combustion reaction works is Oxygen and a fuel source ignite and produce CO2 and H2O, without the ignition step there is extra O2 and a little fuel that won't affect shit.

I can't read that too blurry.. your failing for nox correct ? Could be the cat, if egr isn't operating correctly that too. Lean misfire, excess carbon build up. Could be simple or could be a combination of things.

I still clean my Injectors, Intake and Throttle body around every 10,000-15,000 miles just because I don't want my car to die on me, and because I get better MPG after and the little extra mmmph that you get from a clean fuel system.
