The 240 was the maroon color and was painted Auburn red, very similar colors but I think the color came out nicely. Not too in your face but definitely not boring. oh and about the crack shot..... |

Man, its sad that its come to this. Cops are pulling people over left and right just to inspect the cars for illegal mods and engines. Last week when I was going home on PCH, they pulled every car over that had rims, exhaust, etc. They were inspecting stuff, even my friend's elise got pulled over. Im surprised they didnt pull me over when I was driving the XB. Ill have to spray my FMI black now just to be safe.

Do what I did, get a custom exhaust made with 2 axle-backs, 1 stockish , 1 straight pipe. The stockish one is pretty quiet, well under 95db. I can now legally refuse to pop my hood as my exhaust is NOT illegal. I have cops come flying down the freeway behind me, almost skid to a halt next to me, stare at me for like 5 minutes running my plates and everything, inspecting my car, and then drive off.

yeah the officer actually said something along the lines of they are looking for these type of modified vehicles as they usually have illegal modifications on the vehicle.
I wish they'd spend more time busting people that actually drive like idiots & race on the streets. w/ the pot holes and dips on our streets that tax money is supposed to fix..... i wouldn't drive hard on city streets and mess up my cars. I'll save that for when I take her to the track. |

I dont know why some people are baging on you...lol...nice cars. But you look kinda young, how do you afford them?
Anyway, mabe I should spray my FMIC now too, and tint my windows. Other then my wheels everything else would apear to be stock. And the wheels are not godie at all anywyas. Even my exuast is a 3 downpipe, midpipe, but the cat back portion is RSR and looks like a stock pipe. Also quiter then the HKS unit I had. |

I dont consider people really bagging on me b/c at the end of the day its my car and I'll do what i want with it, how I want it, and in the order that suits my need. I only plan on keeping the car for a year or so, as its only a neat project for my cousin and I to keep us busy while I'm waiting for my real toy to arrive. Plus its just nice that we both have 240's to swap around parts. The car is only in its beginning stages. Wheels, i've got covered and so I do not need to justify why I'm rolling around w/ weak offsets while the car is still in the garage being worked on. I'm still in the process of working on the drivetrain and suspension. Next engine, then interior, and then get cracking on the aesthetics. ETA?.... probably in about 2-3 months. I've only had the 240 for less then 1 month so I suppose you can consider me a at this whole game. But thank you to everyone for your kind words, I look forward to meeting some of you at meets and such. I travel quite a bit so hopefully I will get to meet some east coast members also. |

why the fuck do you havea pic of 2 guys in the tub, thats gay, and i really like ur car and its sweet as hell but complaining about a ticket is pointless and im fed up with people complaining about cops and their state and laws. If you don't like the laws of your state, MOVE TO FUCKING SEALAND.

This thread was made to just inform people that California cops ARE infact actively seeking modified tuner cars. And yes, the bathtub picture was meant to be uber gay but thanks for pointing that out. |

just dont go to state ref and pay the damm ticket off...i think its 400 bucks..easier than taking your motor out and dealing with crap like that...you look rich anyways so 400 bucks should be pocket money...lol
goodluck.. maybe you should think about getting better wheels too..those pizza cutters are prob the reason the cop pulled you over haha jk..i like the paint keep up the work.. |

I can agree he as we all know the rist when getting a JDM motor and he is paying the price. But I dont think he got it to be JDM COOL. Not sure why you put it like that.
Not like he is selling a CRX on craigslist with a JDM b16...it is a performance thing. But this is not really my business and he can speak for himself. Alot of people on hear have swaps though. Have a nice day. |

I swapped it b/c my goal is to run 350-420 rwhp w/ good weight distribution and it was either this or the RB but I figured i'd sacrifice a bit of weight by going w/ the RB so I went SR instead. In all honesty I think it'd be cheaper to meet my goals w/ the RB25 as far as power is concerned. I never asked for sympathy or advice.... this thread is purely for some chuckles and the awareness that police are specifically gunning for us.
as stated before, I knew full well of the consequences and I am infact ready to handle those consequences. I'll be damned if I let a Referee ticket take keep me from one of my few hobbies.. btw Ref ticket is already taken care of. JDM Cool? lol.... thats kind of funny. Think what you want. |
