Ka24de ignition timing trick
A lot of ppl seem to be under the impression when u set your distributor timing, that you line up both timing marks on the distributor. (Im having a hard time finding it in the FSM atm but i believe the s13 tells you to set it this way)
this is totally wrong and will retard your ignition timing 1 tooth set your timing right the first try and line the timing mark up with the dowel pin on the distributor gear (the dowel pin next to the timing mark) iirc this is how the S14 fsm says to set timing i use this trick a lot and today for shits and giggles i tried setting it to the timing marks and my motor would only puff and poof. then i used the trick advanced it one tooth and bam fired up after 1 crank hope this helps somebody
