Q45 LSD Upgrade Options

Hi everyone,
I currently have a 1990 Q45 complete rear diff installed on my s14 and either the bearings or the lsd are worn. Looking for options to remmediate the issue.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any LSD replacement options that would work in the Q45 pumpkin?

I tried searching the web but came up empty.

Thank you!
-Imran

My recommendation would be an S15 HLSD, but you would need to switch back to stock axles. Either that or custom create output shafts that are equal length 30-spline 6x1 configuration.

As far as I know there aren’t any aftermarket LSD’s made for the Q45 differential housing.

I've opened up a couple of these VLSD's and the only components I can see that may get worn are the spider gears and thrust washers them self, or the surface they make contact with. Thrust washers can just be replaced. As far as pinion and differential bearings, timken brand sells jdm bearings and races, and significantly cheaper than buying 'oem' off of nissan distributors.

For the pinion, the inner bearings you may need are similar to the r200V option available for VLSD'S equipped 240sx. I'm only going off of what I recently purchased by mistake. It wash compareable to the bearing on my Q45 pinion. They were both the exact size. (I needed the small version to fit my r200 open diff. Casing).

National brand off of rockauto has 2 variants of inner pinion bearing, one is smaller diameter for open diff r200, and the other is larger for r200v (vlsd equipped), like previously mentioned.

Now, I'm not sure about the outer bearing, as to whether it's similar throughout all of the nissan equipped r200, or q45 for that matter. I didn't receive that bearing when I purchase my ring and pinion set, so I'm not sure if it's larger for q45, like the inner was in comparison to a 240sx.
