Angry vents not closing?

so i recently noticed that my vents are not staying shut on my s14 and its getting very annoying. i checked relays, fuses, wiring and everything seems ok, and something else i noticed that was odd was my heater is not working either as well as the lights on my vent unit. anyone have this problem? searched but found nothing, heater core bad? thanks for any help.

bad heater core would mean you got a leak

as far as your issues, sounds like a short or something.

could be a kinked vaccum line or a blend door is stuck or not moving cuasing it not to open and blend the heat from the heater core. a leak in the heater core would show up as wet carpet usally. I think if u remove ur glove compartment u can get to the heater core from there.

There is no vacuum on the climate control system. The door motor is bad or disconnected.
