AEM Series 2 Plug and Play Engine Management System aka AEM EMS V2



From AEM:
AEM’s Series 2 Programmable Engine Management System is more powerful than its predecessor. In addition to more robust hardware, there are several improvements over the original EMS. AEM's Series 2 Plug & Play EMS plugs directly into a vehicle's factory ECU harness and requires no additional wiring or hardware. Windows™ compatible software (XP, Vista, Windows7) makes the task of copying, viewing and manipulating data as simple as a click of the mouse. Our new AEMTUNER software is infinitely adjustable software and allows tuners to program virtually any combination of engine control, power adders and auxiliary devices, and accurately delivers proper amounts of fuel and correct ignition timing for any boost level or operating condition.

We have access to all AEM products, but the most applicable models are as follows:

• 30-6600 '91-'94 S13 KA,
• 30-6610 '95 and early '96 S14 KA w/ blue plug and some S14 SR20DET with 88-pin blue plug
• 30-6611 '96-'98 S14 KA w/ white plug
  
• 30-6601 Any S13 SR20Det '91-'95 Redtop SR20det ;96-'99 Blacktop SR20det
• 30-6620 S14 SR20det, RB20, RB25, and early RB26

Also, for all of the 4 cylinder motors such as KA or SR the AEM EMS 4 is also available.



The AEM EMS 4 is limited to those with 4 cylinder motors and needing only one wideband. This system is not a plug and play system, however here at Jordan Innovations we offering for our Nissan 4 cylinder members special deal right now to include AEM EMS 4, Jordan Innovations tucked and loomed engine harness, and AEM Inline Wideband Uego Controller for $1550 shipped. We would require the original engine harness from you and turn around time is 1 week.

AEM's versatile enough that we can make it work with any engine, but we need to make sure we can switch up the jumper pins inside the box. For other custom applications we've been able to make it work and it was no problem. We would need to make a custom engine harness since the ecu connector will be different.

question: is the aem ems 4 a full stand alone ecu like the V2? what are the differences between the 2 or is it just the V2 is for 6cyl and bigger and the ems-4 is for 4cyls...

also, do you know if either of these will work on a VVL head modified for an SR20det (I've heard they require a specific ecu and my power FC is not good enough).

Just to be clear, since this comes up a lot - there are additional differences besides the number of coil and injector drivers the ECU supports; the EMS4 is not simply a 4-cylinder version of the Series 2 EMS. For our purposes, however (running inline 4 automobile engines), the EMS4 can be thought of as a 4-cylinder Series 2 EMS that needs a special harness.

The EMS4 has the same software and very similar hardware, and supports every feature of the Series 2 EMS that we care about. Both the EMS4 and the Series 2 EMS will support VVL on a SR20.

question, i have an s15 sr20det and per aem, they don't have a box that will work due to the ignition system on the s15 sr. since the aem ems 4 would be hardwired in does that mean it will work or is that something i have to worry about and further research?

p.s.

The S15 doesn't have a plug-and-play option, but we can make a S14 SR box work fairly easily using a S14 ECU connector, or the EMS4. I'd suggest the EMS4 as it'd be a much better value! I'll take a look through the "JordanInnovations" PM's and get back to you now.
