I thought it would be interesting to ask because I just broke up with my girlfriend and one of the reasons is that she hated me doing or saying anything that involved cars in any way. This was just because she was jelous of my 240 and the time that it took. Haha

well....my fiance would love to see my car go.  She appreciates sports cars (she's always wanted the Supra turbo, the TRD special edition one), but she also doesn't appreciate spending a bunch of money....for nothing...and right now, my car isn't in the condition it should be in.  It's underpowered, interior could use a makeover, and the exterior has some dings, scratches, and the paint by the rear license plate is peeling...."but hey, you gotta realise the potential!"

So, even though she recognizes my love for building things(computer, RC car, now my 240), she hates it right now as I'm a po man, and begs me to be patient till we pay off some debt, then I can throw money at it...

My boyfriend and I are both into cars, so we totally understand the whole situation!  He's got a Blue '02 Sentra Spec-V, and I have my red 97 S14.  I don't think we've got to worry about having kids, cause we've got those two instead.  (Don't have to feed em and they don't talk back...)

'>  I don't know about your S14, but my S13 is always begging for goodies (mods/gas/oil) and punishes me when I treat it badly (don't change oil, steer too  hard too late into a corner, run 87 octane etc.) ...  riiiiight.
On the other hand, everyone who's seen my car (both guys and girls, less the people at the garage I go to) think it's ugly. I have a mismatched driver's side fender and headlight cover, partially primered hood, two black steelies in front, and two gold (w/ silver lip) 15" Volk rims out back (they wouldn't clear front calipers) and an exhaust leak that rattles if I go slower than 35 or so.

My wife is pretty cool about my car. She knows that I have a passion for cars and she lets me do what I want to it. She will also give me ideas on what to do next. Like when I was getting my rims, she said "hun... go for it... just get the 18's, better get them now instead of wishing you got them later" I take her every time I buy anything for my car. She is my buddy in fixing up my car. SHe may not like a few things but she still Loves it over all since I Love it... It's not the car... it's always the guy that's in the car!! =)

Well she understands my hobby, but refuses to support it.  Meaning as much as I ask, I have to buy my own parts since she won't even get them for my birthday.  Apparently the gift needs to be more meaningful.  I say give me a damn short shifter.  Otherwise she likes that I keep my car clean and that it doesn't have a double decker wing on the back.  Though the ride stiffness in chicago hurts her butt.

In anycase, I love them both, though she's convinced I'll leave her for another car.
