Three cars known for their exceptional performance, economy, and affordability? A simple poll of which car you believe is the better all around choice in performance. Speed, handling, etc? Feel free to reply.

Well, it all depends on what you are going to be using it for, it's hard to decide which one is best overall. The 86 is best for drifting mostly because parts are so cheap. The S13 and the SE-R are great cars too. I couldn't decide, null vote And what about all the other great cars out there too...S14

why does everyone always say that? geez...hyundai parts are cheap too, but they arent the best for drifting. and AE86's are pretty old, therefore they usually require a fair amount of maintenance work to keep em going strong, and all the little things u need do add up. owning an AE86 IS NOT THAT CHEAP. all three are good cars, but my personal preference would be the S13. the SE-R is good for a FWD car, but it is still FWD, too bad... the S13 is great all around, well balanced, and RWD! good looking too. the AE86 has a very solid chassis, and awesome handling, but not necessarily the easiest car to drift, and contrary to what people may think, corolla GT-S's are NOT very common here like they are in japan, its a totally different scene in the states. and no they arent as dirt cheap as people may think...please read this: To All Potential AE86 Owners...

Agreed w/ GDS14... ae86 are not cheap! Maybe before initial D came out in the US, and before whenever they got popular in the japan they were good cars because of cheap and abundant parts... but these days even a beat up ae86 will cost you more than an S13!
Good performance (4A-GE/4A-GZE) with a good chassis (AE86) but not so good cost, either stateside NOR J-side. Sentra SE-R... I learnt to drive stick in one of these... They seem like fun cars to throw around, but I don't know if I'd really ever buy one... come on, after driving RWD, I'd never go back to FWD!! Therefore, through the process of elimination, we come to the S13 chassis. cheap (often known to be had w/ blown engine for under $500), abundant OEM parts (relative to AE86 and SE-R), Growing aftermarket support, classic good looks (can't say the same for the SE-R! and a nicely balanced FR layout make the S13 the winner here! |

Well, we have 2 ae86 at the shopp both being setup for drift. After driving my 240 for so long I must admit the 86 is awesome for drifting. All around car is another story. The parts are cheap on the 86 and we haven't had any prob yet. The se-r is FWD so..........yeah, the s13 IMO is the best all around out of these 3 choices but of course I would prefer the DOHC over the SOHC.
