Get a multimeter and see what voltage you're seeing across the battery with the car running and off. If you have less than 9v across the battery when you're trying to crank it, it wont start. Once you jump it and its running, check it again. If you're not seeing atleast 13v, then your alternator is not doing its job.

More then likely it's the alternator. Mine randomly died at a red light and started right up after a quick jump. I Tested it how fliprayzin240sx described above. If it's running and your battery isn't reading above 12v then your alternator is not doing it's job

My buddy has an S13 SR that would run and start fine when it was hooked up to my truck. It would idle fine on it's own but you try to move it and it would sputter and die.

Turns out his grounds weren't attached right.

i agree with everyone...easiest way to test for alt is multimeter across pos and neg of battery...should show around 14v as i did mine a few days ago when i was doing the coil direct to battery mod.
