matt speaking: yes it is we just got back from the hearing and its done...over with at altamont...for now. or thats what they say. the final decision was that no drifting at altamont only a "nascar" style event with laps and a finish line, and some other details... basically were screwed

Matt is right, they said something to the extent of "No judged events"
I consider this a big hit to altamont, but only a small hit to drifting, we'll find somewhere to go, there are lots of big parking lots in the bay area.

time for you guys to make those council peoples life a living hell.
Find their homes, get their addresses. Start scoping out their houses for "code enforcement violations" and infractions. Call the city, report them. Their is a host of legal things you can do to make their lives a living hell.

Fuck that bitch Karen Rivard. She can suck my asshole. She's straight up lied on camera that people are trashing her place, doing donuts in front of her house etc. That road is dangerous to make a u-turn on, lots of little hills where you can't see. I hope that hoe gets what she deserves.

I have some "connections" with getting in contact directly with the governor. I need for anyone with a detailed description of what happened today at the meeting to contact me via pm or email. Also if there is a typed worded report, or video that would help as well.
Thanks. Luke

I also need all the names of the neighbors involved, any companies they are associated with, the names of the people at the city who made the deicisions. That way we can all submit request to have them audited.
Im sure a payoff could have been involved.

Man, thats rediculous.
Their logic really makes no sense. They ban drifting from a track, where esle can people practice??? Its forcing people out on the streets. What i find funny is the statement that lady in the video said. "They are drifting up and down our streets, blocking out drives, etc......" What she described is shit you'd see at illegal street races. Maybe not the drifting up and down the streets part, but street racing has been going on forever and sometimes has an association with gangs, drugs, violence, and for the most part idiots who just dont care about damaging private property. Yet, sanctioned drag races still go on. I dont think i've ever seen a fight break out at a drift event...ever. Do you guys think there may be even a possibility of a petition having any impact on lifting the ban? I dont know if it will, but im just thinking of any possibility of helping out. Im sure something will get worked out. |

Maybe they want drifting on the street. They prob figure the fines that people will receive if they get caught drifting, will = big money for the city / state, other wiese why would they ban something that will keep people off the street, and other people safe? Everything seems to be about money here. Example giving us tickets for stuff that make our cars run cleaner. I think maybe its about the money.

And also, its not a ban on drifting, its a ban from non Nascar style events at Altamont. If we work together, we can handle this.

LOL and dont forget those "golden oldie" chicks in there neon colored cars. U know, those old folks that come to the practice days. We should try to get one of those government funds that that guy on tv with the ? marks all over his suit is talkin about...raise money in the community and local businesses like Americas Tire and try to build a small track. lol but thats A LOT of money. Yea, fucked for now. |

Im sure if we get enough money together, we could run at the Oakland Coliseum, or Good old Golden Gate fields or even AT&T park.
However I thought that Alameda Naval Air Station would be a good place to start, they have auto-x competitions all the time, this track looks fun http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=18...05879&t=h&om=1 Just to re-iterate, the board wasn't against drifting persay, just drifting at altamont.

I'm down to help out if there's anything i can do to get another track or place for all to drift in norcal, i don't have a lot of connections but i am a member of the scca so i'll ask around see if i can get some info on how they get each event together and scheduling times at places. |
