This. Its starting to get bad for enlisted folk as well, AF usually gets the "pick of the litter" and they are narrowing what they will take these days. |

I would consider enlisting but I fear I am reaching the edge of enlistment cutoff age. I am 27, will be 28 may of next year. I was a non-traditional student when I graduated college, I know I am a bit older than most recent college graduates. I read the requirements of up to age 35 for officer consideration and up to 27 for enlistment. You are a recruitment officer, do they give out special exceptions? I am specifically located in Philadelphia.

ummmm you would have to be in basic training by your 28th birthday, there are waivers for everthing but like the previous guy stated. everyone is trying to join so we are having to be very picky about what we take, most air force recruiters wont even do any waivers unless they are basic in nature and dont require much work to complete. in my office you have to get a 50 or better on your asvab to join even though the stated minimum the the regulation is 36. i hate turning away otherwise qualified people but we have to do something to weed people out. we even run credit checks on people and thats another way we keep people out.
