which N/A Exhuast-Catback..VERY Specific Wants/needs
Hello,
I have specific wants/needs out of an exhaust(cat-back) system that I am looking for,and am willing to sacrifice a little bit if neccesary, but I'd prefer not to.. I have a KA24DE (1991 FB) and LOVE my low-end tq,and definitely want more high end HP too...I don't want to get an N1 Dual set-up,so if your going to suggest that...stop.It hangs too low for me,and I have heard too many horrow stories about them... I want it to be fairly loud, not really "loud" but definitely a hint more than noticeable volume... 5Zigen Fireball-I have to sacrifice my low-end stuff, but I like the way it looks, and I definitely like 5Zigen as a brand, and it has a good price, and will give me higher top-end Blitz Nur Spec R:I love this exhaust ! I love the way it looks, and its rep., but it seems to hang pretty low ? Also'd have to sacrifice low end GReddy DD-> I can't find out ANYTHING about this set-up online, other than it looks great,is very loud, and gives extra high end,but I would think with dual pipes it wouldn't loose that much low-end TQ ?? I'd love to learn more about it,but I can't find hardly any info online... Dual Universal(from Cartoyz, the sound shop)->When I had my system put in,there was a muffler on display there, that was "black pearl" high temp colored, and fairly small, not really N1 style design, but straight through design,...I was thinking I could buy two of these, and have a shop bend up the piping from my cat on back..that way it'd definitely be unqiue, and I LOVE the way the muff looks,...I wonder what kind of gains I would see with it ? And sound ? Thats the biggest problem with this option...but right now its my favorite... Other->I don't know ! You tell me ! ....My original idea was to get two Fireball universals,or N1 universals...maybe HKS or JIC...and have them put on with custom piping...but I am not paying $200+ just for a muff... EDIT:Maybe if I had put this in the tech talk section I would have more responce...oh well...damnit ! Last edited by Ghettokracker71; 01-05-2004 at 03:38 PM.. |

My brother has a N1 single (soon to be mine ), also n/a. Its not that loud unless your revs are above 4k, its quiet when your in idle, loud when your on the gas. I love it.

I vote Greddy DD, but there's a problem... they've been discontinued!! So finding one is going to be hard.
I love they way they look, but from what people that have them have told me the sounds is close to not having an exhaust at all. So if that doesn't bother you and you can find one I say go for the DD!!!

thanks for the responces....Well,so far I'm down to two options:
1. Custom mandrel-bent GReddy DD style set-up,2.25 inlet with dual 2's(or 2.25s,I just thought 2 would make more sence for retaining torque yet gaining higher RPM HP) and have pipes run to the back, like the DD,but I haven't been able to find out enough about where the DD muff mounts to tell the muff shop... OR 2.Mandrel bent all the way to the back, and a single inlet, dual outlet muffler mounted in stock location HKS sport style. I have a high flow cat,and a header going on soon(complications have been holding it back) and I have a rather large flow-through muffler, that looks like it belongs more on a honda, wich is why I proble won't put it on... I couldn't find any canister small enough to do it Apex'i dual N1 style though(that wasn't insanely expensive PER canister)...anyway... |

3 inch all the way. Most power! I've heard a Blitz nurspec 3inch on a NA KA, and it sounded very nice, not loud or obnoxious at all.
