![]() headlights - off signal - on turn signal bulb - on sidemarker - on headlights - on signal - off turn signal bulb - off sidemarker - on headlights - on signal - on turn signal bulb - on/off alternating sidemarker - on/off alternating the write up.. ![]() 1) OEM wire harness that comes with the JDM kouki turnal signal lenses ![]() 2) Cut off the female connector off the harness.. we will reuse the female connector to connect to the vehicle's sidemarker male connector ![]() 3) Connect the RED/BLACK wire from the female connector to the RED wire from the sidemarker bulb.. DO NOT connect the BLACK wire from the female connector, just tape it off as pictured ![]() 4) Connect the BLACK wire from the sidemarker bulb to the RED wire from the turn signal bulb ![]() 5) You can either splice the vehicle's turn signal connector as pictured or just cut off the connector completely ![]() 6) Connect the RED and BLACK wire union from the turn signal bulb from step 4 to the GREEN wire from the vehicle's turn signal connector.. Connect the BLACK wire from the turn signal bulb to the BLACK wire from the vehicle's turn signal connector ![]() 7) Tape off all your connections with electrical tape.. then plug the female connector from the lenses to the vehicle's sidemarker male connector.. now if you connect everything properly, your turn signals will work as the videos above

I did something similar but used the top corner lamp to be a turn signal also instead of a constant on. Both the top corner lamp and the turn signal will turn on when signaling, but only the top corner lamp would remain off when the headlamps are on. I have a diagram of the relays if you're intrested.

the oem way is for the signal to stay on and flash.
use the Green power from usdm sidemarker, then Red power from usdm signal.

Those are very high-quality videos. Thank you for sharing them.
As for modifying the wiring, it's actually really easy if you don't stray too far away from the OEM setup. I put a lot of info in this thread. Check it out: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...=magic+flasher |

Now that I read the writeup again, I do not recommend this mod. You are backwashing current all the way back to the combination light switch.
When both the corner lamp and the turn signal are on, you have current collision, which is what causes the corner lamp to turn off when the signal turns on. The best way is to connect both bulbs to turn signal. S14s already have a front side marker. If you insist on doing this mod, please use a Magic Blinker. Never connect two wires with 12V(+) together like that. Last edited by g6civcx; 01-22-2008 at 11:49 AM.. |

Someone asked me the correct way to perform this mod. You will need this part: http://www.customled.com/PRODUCTS/MA...ic_blinker.htm
One blinker for each bulb you want to use for both parking and signal. Tap the parking and signal wires and route them to the blinker. Hook up the bulb you want to the blinker and ground as indicated in the instructions. Now the bulb may be used for both parking and signal. The bulb will stay lit with parking, and will flash any time the signal is activated. This is a much safer way than the way outlined in the first post. |

for those who dont want to use the JDM turn signal and would rather have the fixed and always on corner light be a blinker what would you guys recommend?
I was told its easy as cutting the corner light near the plug and tapping it into the harness for the turn signal and then running the turn signal bulb and plug into corner light housing...is this right?

There's two plugs on the light, and two on the car. One is a marker, one is a signal on the car. Wire them however you want, it's not that complicated.

The corner lamp harness has 2 wires: ground and parking light power. Follow the parking light power wire as far up the harness as you possibly can. It will tee off to the bumper lamp. Snip it at the tee and tape up the exposed connection of what's left of the tee. Connect the loose wire to the turn signal wire. Hint: the bumper lamp has 3 wires: parking, turn, and ground. Track down the turn signal wire and connect the loose wire to this. Repeat on the other side. |

if you read you will see that in March of '07 the pictures stopped working. one could assume that they have never been put back up since then, so you did a good job reviving a dead thread for no reason. if you actually read the steps you should be able to do it without the pics anyway.

So I noticed this thread through searching and saw that it was lacking in images. I did a few searches on google and found all the missing pieces.

Just read all of this. Some one chimes in saying that this going to back feed issue in the long term affects would cause the combination switch to burn out and would need some kind of diode. Any one have proper way to wire up Jdm turns to usdm car? Thanks
