LS430 Input

So my DD just died, would you think a LS430 Ultra Luxury would be a good DD option? Roughly 350-400 miles a week.

Yes.

I had a non-UL LS430, most amazing car I've had as a daily. Decent gas mileage for it's size, very comfortable interior, power when you want it. I wouldn't hesitate in the slightest bit. 230k on it, ran like it was new.

I have an '02 GS430 with 300k on bc coilovers and I love it. AC blows cold, power everything works, dead reliable (I had to change the knock sensors and do the timing belt service), super comfortable and gets like 25 mpg highway doing ~80. I daily drive it 20 miles to work each way in 100+ degree heat, never misses a beat. Faster than a stock SR 240 also haha. Bought it for 4k.

For what it's worth, ive been daily driving a 99 LS400 for 3.5 years.
115k miles when I bought it, 165k now. It never even hiccups. Only gets about 17mpg in my stop-and-go city commute, but hey I paid cash for the thing..
I think UCFx0 are without a doubt some of the best cars ever made.

I was DD'ing a lowered Subaru Forester. Think the damn belt just snapped so engine is probably shot. Found a 2003 LS430 Ultra Luxury for about $9K with 80k miles on it. Thinking that might be my replacement for it. I'm just on the fence about its gas mileage and how much more my insurance might be.

Lexus is almost always rented the most reliable brand. It'll probably drive forever. Kicker with used later model luxury cars is all the tech. Shit starts breaking and it's generally expensive to fix. You let one thing go for a while, then something else goes out and sooner or later you end up with a pile of shit. But of all the brand's of luxury cars I'd trust Lexus the most.

A 2003 UL LS430 with 80k for 9000 bucks!? Dude, pick that ish up. Its just now getting broken in! I'm sure you can handle the gas mileage and I almost guarantee that you'll agree the low mpg's are worth it.

Yes, it is an excellent daily. I've had both ucf20 and ucf30 and I can't say enough good things about either one. Make sure you grab a good condition/well-maintained one.

Ultra luxury is great, you get all the neat features like a/c/heater f/r seats, massage rears, rear ac/radio control, air suspension, self-closing doors.

When you lower it down a lot, they still ride well even with 20k+ spring rates.

Regarding parts when it breaks....it isn't bad at all. The only parts you will really need to look into is tb/wp, 02 sensors, valve cover gaskets. The pricing is pretty good in the grand scheme of things. Change all the fluids, get oil analysis and you are set.

I bought a G35 instead of a GS350, and honestly I've regretted. The G35 isn't terrible, but I've some frustrating issues with it. I know some folks with a GS/LS and none of them complain.
