1.5jz navan s14
Hey guys some of you might know this car. I got it thinking it was a deal and well it wasn't a lot of rust everywhere wasn't taken care of at all. I guess my fault for not really checking it and trusting the old owner, but regardless now it will be bigger better faster stronger haha. I wish I had more engine bay pics of when I took out the sr20 but sadly I don't. The car will be built and tuned in house at Gonzy tuning. A lot of the supra guys might know him and his work.
Parts: 2jz bottom end 1jz head port and polished Arp head studs Tt head gasket Bc springs and retainers Bc 264 cams Big daddy performance fuel rail 1000cc precision injectors Aero motive fuel pressure regulator I will be going e85 so everything will be e85 ready Mega squirt ms3 Freed engineering motor mount brackets Freed engineering driveshaft Strii fuel, boost and oil pressure gauges Freed engineering shifter extension R154 transmission Act clutch My cluster will be all led (will post pics) I will be changing my rack and pinion its f 'Ed up All the wheel bearings are gone A lot of front suspension will be changed Innovative 72mm turbo I will keep you guys updated. I appreciate your time looking if you have any questions feel free to ask. This is how the car used to look This is the sr20 that was in it sadly like I said I didn't really take much images of the engine bay. Let's just say it was horrible. Taking out the sr20 out with the old. Lol Passenger side rust :/ Driver side rust yes I know it's horrible! Sr20 out of the picture time to take things apart Found a nice 240 to take the rocker arms out. Hard at work! Nice cut. A lot less rust barely any just surface I got a lot of pics but I'll just start here a lot of work done a lot of things taken out and a lot of rust fixed! As far as engine bay goes I'll post more later The setup that will be going in the car just gotta change oil pan and do the springs retainers and cams. Its a bit difficult to set up considering you have to wire everything up yourself. And it's different then setting up a aem or any of the newer standalones, but it has great features more then most standalones. The ve tuning makes up for wiring everything up yourself. I'm not saying your wrong everyone has there good and bad reviews but you won't be disappointed with my setup . Haha

Essentially the 1j head flows a bit better, the 2j head for example has a bit more restriction around 5th and 6th cylinder due to casting shapes and the 1j also has slightly bigger exhaust valves (yet 2j's intake valves are slightly bigger) but you also gain slightly higher compression and 500cc more displacement using the 1j head on the 2j block apparently.
That info is bassed on stock heads though, which realistically are still good for large power. |

Right just slightly higher. See what it can do. I have to put pics up of the head being cleaned up port and polished and springs retainers and cams being put in. I also have pics of the oil pan being switched from rear sump to front sump. Bare with me as I have to upload them. Soon enough .

Too bad this car wasnt what we expected it to be when we bought it. it looked so nice from pics but when we started to take it apart it was obvious that it needed much work. its gonna be a beast when its done regardless and you know its gonna be built right and Gonzy's.

It's night time but motor is in! Now to get valve covers turbo inlet powder coated hmmm what color.still a lot of work left but a good sign of what's to come. |
