Good for you for starting early. Learn your car.

And no, I wouldn't spend that much. Find yourself a good, strong shell for 200-300 bucks and start there. That way, you have all that extra money to start putting in together.

Just remember- be responsible, be safe, and be aware. Don't listen to others that discourage you if that's what you really want to do.

Honestly... Just save your money. When you're old enough to drive you might want something completely different. There may be a new trend and you'll regret having bought your $500 car. You don't need a car right now. It's of no use to you. If you're set on a 240, save your money, do a ton of research, and buy a nice one when you're 16 or whatever.

That way you can buy all of your parts at once and do a sweet build.

but dont just buy the first car you find that you can afford, wait it out and find one in better condition, at least something thats never been in an accident..

I noticed that the title isn't even in his name and that you'd have to find the original owner, just that is enough to drive me away from this car. There's no point to buying that car now - alot can change in 3 years, and crappy beat up cars are only going to get cheaper.
