So, I have this odd SR drivetrain problem..
Well for starters, the symptoms:
-Between the speeds of 30-65 mph, there is this clunking (like change in a glass jar) and grinding sound as well as the accompanying vibration in the shifter. -Driving under 30 drives just like it always has. -Once I hit 65, the clunking/vibration/grinding/death growl of doom magically goes away. -Death growl (as i like to call it) seems to be speed dependent and not gearing related (doesn't matter what gear I'm in when the growl starts). -No grinds when shifting. -No shifting problems at any point other than the occasional 5th gear pop out. -I have a slight (like this much _________) rotational play in the driveshaft where it connects to the tranny (don't know if that helps). -Already checked to make sure the exhaust heat shield does not make contact with the drive shaft, no issues there. Specs: -S13 Chassis -Blacktop SR20 -Full 3" exhaust -Welded diff Don't have any clue as to what the problem might be at this point, any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
