I think techno's cool because of the fast beat and those strange sounds they make.
I also think that different type of music fits different kind of atmosphere. They all have their moments. |

Well my favorite band's are : AFI, Pennywise, NOFX, Guttermouth, alot of other punk bands....... I like listening to "rave music " everyonce and a while, I can't do drugs anymore so that type of music is kinda boring now. I'll listen to anything but I mainly have rap CD's only because I used to have 2 10's in my car, I don't listen to them anymore cause I don't have subs any more.

streetpower, i liked ur agrument about it having many different elements to it if u want to look at it musically. most ppl r rollin' when they listen to it n just like the fact that it's fast though half the time . i just think that the stuff like beethoven's 5th symphony remix is made more for dancing or partying, it doesn't seem like stuff i can really get into. like classical music, i respect it n analyze it n stuff, n i might wanna learn a certain part on piano or whatever, but u'll never catch me bumping it through 2 12's while i'm going to school. i really like when ppl bring up good points about their music and can explain why they like it or what makes it so good, but i hate it when i ask somebody why they like a band n they're just like "um...because it sounds good?"

ok simple replies to a couple comments made,
Ca18guy: Your the kind of etard that I used to make fun of when your all gimped out on the floor rollin your ass off because you ate to many tabs...you dont like electronica because you cant do drugs...man grow the FUCK up...there are few things in this world that make me mad but you just pushed my button all the way in and broke it.. Chokudori: Very Very Very true, I mean dont get me wrong but I wouldnt want to be jammin to some dark step d&b while im doing my thing with my wife... BlankFlip: You are a smart person, I admire people who can listen to a comment and totally see where im comming from Ill list a couple songs that you can listen to that are good from different genres: Trance: Binary Finary/1999 -- Has one of the sweetest most envloped builds and can honestly say it is one song that I can really focus on and get inside the music Jungle: Makai/Beneath The Mask - This song has samples from Akira the chanting and really when I listen to this song I get chills its really good Also go to www.satelliterecords.com, this is where I order most of my records from and they have like min and half samples of all the records they sell you can get an idea of the new and old stuff.. spacetime continuum is an electronic group with more talent than some rock bands. (odd time signatures + jazz chords). i do not like house and gabber. drum n' bass for me and i like metal.

Who you callin' 80 boi? Oh well, I guess I'll always be in the minority. This is really a great conversation, too bad I can't take part in it 'cause I can't quite put my finger on that genre. I guess I'll be bored till I can find somebody that hates country with a passion to argue with. . . Very respectable bunch That's what music is all about, getting people in a particular mood. I have no reason to badmouth many genres. Like I said, if it's more about the music than the money, I'm a fan :-) |

misnomer, i c u qoted my "just like somebody that's like 80 years old n likes country will probably never like rap," sounds like u like country n rap. i was just pointing out that like some ppl just don't get or like other types of music, i'm sure there's something out there ur against. i do find myself playing some country guitar riffs, just to learn though .

I think Konflict is phat, some AK12000. All the remixes can go out the window. I like dnb and jungle so I get lots of shit that it ain't original, and remixes don't help my case. But in general if it's good I like it. i.e. Sublime Metallica, 311, DJ krush, Led Zepplin, Soul Slinger, Sasha & Digweed. I'm down 4 whatever.

hahah gold240se, first and formost being a certain age does not mean your grown up, I have ran into people who are 30-40 years old that are still not grown up..my statement was that if he thinks because he cant or chooses to not do drugs that the music sucks now or is boring then he has a very imature attitude towards that...now if he had stated that the music bored him now and he also has choosen that he does not like or cant do drugs then i will support him 110% because I myself made that choice many many years ago...
and the clarification on the comment made of etard, if you dont know "e"tards are kids who eat way to much x, we call them "e"tards because they get all gimped and strung out on extasy.. (Edited by streetpower at 12:21 pm on Nov. 1, 2001) |

Very valid point on the age thing. You were talkin about buttons, I guess one of mine is if I think some one is pickin on, I try to help. And I gracefully put my foot in my mouth about the etard, I'm supprised I never heard that before. Now that you explained it, I think that funny as all ####.

You say "grow up" ? Ummm thats why I don't do drugs anymore. We all go through phases, you go through phase I go through them, everyone doe's. To me that type of music was just an assecoriey (spelling?) to the few times I have done X. I like it still but I'm not that into anymore, well that and the fact they are over saturated with electronica here in the UK (I hear it WAY TO MUCH). So calm down streetpower, take a breath and get over the fact that that type of music is boring to me, for the main factor that I don't do drugs anymore. |

I like almost everything....some of the really poppy stuff, teeny-bobber crap, most rap, and the straight beat bass dance music stuff gets on my nerves, though.
My CD collection includes DC Talk, Bad Company, CCR, Collective Soul, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Spin Doctors, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, REM, Soundgarden, Journey, Black Crows, Creed, Lit, Edgar Winter, the Who, Rush, Doobie Brothers, James Gang, Kansas, Boston, Yes, Queen, Oleander, Foo Fighters, Chili Peppers, Metallica, Rolling Stones, Smashing Pumpkins, STP, Nickelback, Jimmy Eat World, Wheatus, Blink 182, Led Zeppelin, Lifehouse, Mest, Matchbox 20, Molly Hatchet, Audio Adrenaline, Jars of Clay, POD, Skillet, Nirvana, Bush, DMB, Eve 6, Everclear, Green Day, Offspring, 311, Buckethead, Godsmack, SR-71, Saliva, Garth Brooks, Gary Allen, Lone Star, Sammy Kershaw, Travis Tritt, Diamond Rio, New Radicals, Blue Man Group, U2, Van Halen, Beach Boys, Beatles, Monkees, Sugarloaf, Barenaked Ladies, Googoo Dolls, Better than Ezra, Buckcherry, Incubus, Tool, Third Eye Blind, Sugar Ray, Limp Bizkit, Machinehead, Disturbed, Alien Antfarm, Drowning Pool, Linkin Park......ok fingers tired. |
