I had a decent post on this topic when the thread was in Loud Noises... Too lazy to retype it. Cliffs: Sometimes cool, most of the time, lame. MX83s are dumb, but the earlier ones can be neat.

Only reason i find this car cool, is because you dont find many 4 door potential drift cars in the US Market. Other than that, the car looks like fucking shit to me

I dunno, not really. I suppose I just have a boner for pre-'85 Toyotas. Clearly, the one you posted sucks. It's too high, and the wheels are fucking gay. Even if it was low, with non-shitty wheels, aero, and nice paint, it still wouldn't be an attractive car.

yeah i think its a car once in awhile gets a good owner and they know how to build the car.. but the car just stock as is... is not an attractive car IMO at all. theres cars that look good from the factory and thats why we have the cars we own. This one just isnt one of them

I owned a Cressida once, MX73, way cooler than the MX83, but like...aftermarket support = 0%. Therefore, I sold it, and got a 240SX with aftermarket support of 500%, and a ripoff support of 800%.
240 owners = rip you off Cressida owners = old people that are finally buying a new buick. Much easier to work with and are easy going, make good deals, etc. Cressidas are cool, when they are done right. I've only seen two in my life done right, the white one pictured above^ and the MX83 that competed in Formula D Pro AM in 2009 I believe it was (with the R32 that won). It's grey/silver, kitted, 1JZ, etc. |

they are dumb
a generic square car that happens to be a toyota, and a few people happened to do cool shit with that looks half decent for a bajillion year old piece of shit. oh, and htey happen to be RWD, so MORE people that cant spend more htan 2,000 on a car have another option to drift, so its instantly cool

Its funny that I actually had this some conversation with a friend last week. Seems that people usually get them to be different/have a different drift platform than thy S-chassis. I agree with most of u that those cars are Uglier than shit...and I would never drop money on one.

Wow..no love for the Cressida's in here. I've never liked the MX83's but have seen a couple that are done up pretty well. I have an MX73 project myself that I have not yet started since I'm still trying to finish both my S14 projects. Can I also assume people here say the same thing about Cefiro's then?
