how does the online 3rd strike work for the 360? is there some kind of ladder/ranking system to it?

its based on ranking. and win and lose ratio's which is then based on a grade level.

I heard their was some small lag time when playing on xbox live. Is that true? Are you guys using joysticks or controllers?

Lag time all depends on the location and your connection.

It all matters where you game at.

I use a controller, but I got friends who go all out with joysticks lol.

I keep my dreamcast and my arcade sticks around for 3 games, 3rd strike CVS2, and Vampire Chronicles. I used to be hardcore about CVS2 and 3rd strike in college. Still remember staying up late all the time learning how to charge partition with Urien. Ugh what a waste of time lol.

I love this game, but I play mostly at the arcade which I used to frequent. It's called Family Fun Arcade (I know it's a gay name) and it's where Pyro and a lot of the pros regular. I'm not all that great, but can hold my own at that arcade.

You guys can also play this on your PC with a CPS3 emulator and with one of them (mame32) you can play online.

Yeah lagging depends on your connection, I am permanent on mine so I have great connection. No joystick for me, I know the masters online are on them though, I wanna see them in the 360 controller. You can play he ps2 Anniversary collection on the ps3 just no online. I love Dark Stalkers, got it on the psp.

I've been playing Street fighter since they had SF2 on display at Toys R US for SNES. Lately, I've been under to much career stress to allow myself to play any type of video game

My favorite series is Dark Stalkers.

I did find time to mod a classic Virtua Stick with Sanwa parts and a Infiniti Beryllium paint job

Damit, your lucky hustlervibes, FFA is great practice for third strike, too bad its too far away from my house. Usually alot of good players go there, pyro, edma, kai, amir and so on.

Nice stick shinhed, but that looks like the tekken stick. japanese sticks ftl though, their too sensitive.

you can get the anniversary collection for ps2 and play it on your ps3. not sure if anyone plays online ps2 though, xbox is only good because we FINALLY got backwards comp. also for ps2 you can get the alpha anthology which is sick if u like alpha 2 and 3.

Does anyone play on ggpo.net?? final burn alpha, amazing emulator and totally lag free online.. so far support for 5 games and a LOT of comp all the time..

Oh yeah, try spending sleepless nights trying to master roll cancelling in CVS2. Now that was a big waste of time.

I've never liked 3rd strike due to the rock/paper/scissors format of the game. People turtle 90 percent of the time, then when somebody gets knocked down, run right next to them and just do one of these: Throw, overhead, low, or pretend that your gonna throw and slam a fierce punch right in their face. As long as you mix it up and keep them guessing, you win. The top tier characters though have some type of big damage attack, like yuns ginei jin, or uriens shield setup in the corners. Lame sauce.

I wish I could hack the game and play as MVC2 sentinel. I'd rocket punch/super Yun straight to hell.

hmmm i don't have 3rd strike but i was a beast on it with hugo, now i'm on sf2 for the xbox360. i use dhalsim; and most comments people give me is....."damn i never seen anyone play dhalsim like you do." i swear i be using the weirdest characters. haha
