Looking for something streetable but will handle track well. Currently on NT05's now, happy with traction, but I've been chasing a front end shimmy that I cant sort out, and all I can figure on is the tires at this point.

Falken RT615K+ vs RT660? Any other options you guys like at same price point?

Since all I race on is 180-200tw tires per the rules of almost all grassroots/amateur endurance racing series, I have a pretty good take on this. Like any tire, it's always a sacrifice of grip and wear.

Want the best grip with lowest longevity: RE71R or Yoko A052. The A052 are now what teams with bigger wallets use and they seem to handle more heat/abuse without falling off vs the RE71. The A052's are also $$$.

Want the most longevity without sacrificing TOO much grip, it's impossible to beat the RS4. These things truly wear like iron. They will heat cycle out of grip before they wear and it's very apparent when it happens. Budget minded teams run these tires since a single set can be used for entire endurance racing weekend. They are also a spec tire in the most popular series on the west coast and pacific northwest.

Everything else is in between those. RT615k+, RT660, Dunlop Z3, Maxxis VR1, Cooper RS3R, etc. It is very difficult to beat the value of the RT615K+'s for the performance and longevity they offer. They can take a beating and come back to life and we love them for that reason. You're not going to set track records on them, but they aren't meant to do that either. The Dunlop Z3's are also very similar and feel a bit better, but the lap times are near identical and they cost more.

The RT660 are closer toward the RE71 spectrum.

RT660 seem pretty tough to beat at their price point. I'll be picking up a set in 255/40/17 soon.

I prefer the symmetrical tread pattern over an asymmetrical pattern of the RT615+.

My setup:
Car is now on 17x9 BBS LM

Engine is almost finish being updated, just a few things left before tuning.

Yea, I'm leaning towards the RT615K+, seems to be the best bang for buck out there and consistent tire.

Thanks for the input guys!

This was my last S14, a track focused car that I built over a few years for weekend and public trackday work.

SR20, Full Race kit with EFR7670, Mazworx Z32 conversion, Work Emotion CR Kai's, 356 mm 8 pots, Seibon hood. I do miss the car a lot, a well set up S body is a tonne of fun.

It's an EFR6758, other engine specs are:

Doc Race Manifold
Tomei Cams
Tomei Springs
Tomei Headgasket
Forged Bottom end w/ARP everything (8.8:1 cr)
700HP Precision Intercooler
FC Oil Cooler
AEM Meth Kit
Vibrant High Flow Cat
AEM EMS V2
740cc Injectors
K20 Coils

I usually run 15psi, but will be going back soon to max the turbo. Will probably end up around 25psi, hoping for close to 400whp. It's still my daily and has a/c

Very cool. I'm planning on running a very similar setup on my KA-T. No issues like knocking or power drop off with the smaller .64 housing? I was thinking the .85 housing would better suit the KA..

I run the 0.85 rear housing. Cams really opened up the top end.

I saw your thread on NRR and saw you ordered the .64. Did you end up swapping it later?

You're actually correct. I did get the 0.64, it's been so long that I've forgotten haha.

Haha we're all getting old here. I'm actually mounting the same turbo on a Tomei manifold. Its a tight fit, but it fits!

Nice! It's a fantastic turbo and hasn't missed a beat for the past 7 years of track and daily driving.

My original intention was to go bottom mount, but couldn't fit it with oem SR manifold.

I see you've got a stock airbox. I actually have one on the way too.

What else do you have done to the engine? Power goals?

Engine has forged pistons, stock rods and Tomei cams. Im hoping for 300whp on 91 and then close to 380-400whp on e85. I'm hoping the rods and trans can handle the torque.

What size coolant lines are you using? -6an?

What do you guys think? And where do you guys source your rear gears from? What junkyard cars can I rob a gear set out of?
I know 350z/g35 come with a 3.5 FD and 370z/g37 come with a 3.69 FD.
