240sx project (bunch of questions)
Hey guys, I'm a new member and this is my first post. I recently bought a 1993 s13 coupe. Has a locked up sr20det red top, full Silvia front end, bomex kit from the 90's. I got the car for a great price and couldn't pass it up. I ordered a blacktop sr20det longblock from an importer out of Cali, strangely though he could not tell me wether the motor was from an s13,14 or 15. Will my harness, injectors, coils, sensors, flywheel/clutch, tranny etc. from the locked red top crossover to the blacktop regardless of generation? It would be great to have a fresh s15 sr blacktop show up next week. Thanks for any feedback.

s15 blacktop or "notch top" as people call it is very easy to pick out because the back of the valve cover has a notch out of it back by the firewall. im pretty sure the s13 and s14s are similar, except the s14 sr head has fins on the front of it.. i could be wrong and the s15 black top comes with a t28 ball bearing turbo the s13/s14 came with a t25. hope it sort of cleared a couple questions up. also your trans should mate up since its sr to sr, but it will be 5 spd not 6 spd like the s15.

^^ wrong info buddy...
S14 and s15 are both "notch top" and come with T28 More info here: SR20 Differences : Red Top - Black Top - Hardtuned.net SR20DET Specs Nissan 240SX Performance Modification/Engine Swaps/SR20DET - Wikibooks, open books for an open world Nissan SR engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia read the basic info first there are many info guides for your install, depending on your engine you are getting you might just need to swap the new harness and ECU. Most likely you got a S13 blacktop if the cover is flat just like your redtop. Good luck

Nice, thanks for the quick responses and links. The motor is not coming with an oil pan or turbo/manifold. Compression results were around 160psi on all 4 from what I was told. I got the motor for a really good price. Id like to run my coil packs, harness, ecu, injectors, turbo/manifold, transmission, clutch/flywheel, basically swap everything over to the blacktop.
