'96 KA24DE Hard start/Idle

I have a 1996 Zenki. It has sat for about a year before I got it at a body shop. Body/Paint is immaculate, but it has some random mechanical issues that I am resovling as they come up. Last one as of the other day:

Hard to start first start of the day
Won't settle into idle(this is random)

I know older V8's and old Datsun's without ECU's and all teh other related stuff

Would this be a MAF issue or is there somewhere else I should look?

What I have done so far:
Check plugs, gap to .035, no fix
Air cleaner inspected, filter new, no issues here
Cat back installed, this did not cause issue
Replaced four cradle bushings, not part of the issue

Something tells me this is really simple. Also, when doing a basic tune up, it's plugs, wires, and distributor cap, IS THERE a RECOMMENDED GAP for the plugs?

OK, so I opened up the entire intake section and cleaned everything out. Took out the dead cat, vacummed out teh entire assy after using alcohol, put it back together and still had idle issues.

Cables...can anyone explain to me how throttle cables get loose for no apparant reason? Cables that have been tight for a long time. Spray a little WD40, move the nuts a bit, tighten the two cables and idle is fine.

The downloaded SM's and stuff do help along wioth exploded parts views on nissanpartszone.com
