CA18DET timing issue
Ok so when I bought my car it wouldn't start. The PO said the timing was never really done. Well we got the running after working on the timing. But the CAS can't bolt down because it's turned too far to the left. I was curious why this is happening. Is the timing off or am I just plain dumb?

I think he means take the CAS off and put it back on, while making sure the half moons/keys align.
you might also want to try and re-install the timing belt. might have accidentally jumped a tooth on one of the cam gears or crank gear. or just make sure your timing marks match up:

CAS all the way 1 side or the other means your timing belt is out (at least) 1 tooth. Who is this scoobydooracer anyway ? Checking the ECU codes, seriously ? Dude, if you dont know, just shut up ...

See we adjusted the timing belt. Bought this thing non running. Timed it best we could and she fired up. After 2 days of work it's tiring. My timing marks are completely vertical. Is this normal?
But we'll do it again this weekend when we have time. |
