Paul, thank god you got your car back in one piece. You have to tell me the story when I see you. Per the website, you have to be a NASA member in order to participate. Just click on the link that George provided (thanks George). You should see all the info there. Hope to see you all there!

Just registered... I'll be there representing the bottom 16!
p.s. jeff: Jimmy has that miata now, so you might eventually see him out there soon Or at least at SFR autox... He's still new to RWD though, but I'll drag him out to some autoxes real soon. Last edited by MikeDeuce; 10-05-2004 at 05:36 PM.. |

Don't forget the $10 at the door (per person)... so it's closer to $114 for first timers. They seem to be holding events more regularly these days at least, so the value is getting better.
Jeff: will do... I think he can make it to this event as well. |

The website says if you create a new account, it will automatically charge you 35 dollars extra. I was ok with that. So i went ahead with the registration process but it only charged me 69 bucks. ? I got the reciept through email so i'm in as far as i'm concerned. Also on a sidenote last time i went , i just payed 50 bucks. They didnt ask for a Nasa membership. I payed 10 bucks to get through the gates, then 50 bucks to the guy running the event, then they let me run. Maybe it's a default setting of the website to let you know about the 35 dollar fee, but they may not require it for drift practice. Technically i think US drift is running the event. Nasa just sub-leases turn 7 to US Drift, so you dont have to pay Nasa. THis is my understanding of it. ANy more info would be nice cliffs notes: Nasa rents out track. Sub-rents turn 7 to US drift. Nasa is not running the event, so you dont have to be a Nasa member to run. (I think)

me third that. I just want to know like how many runs I will get. Last time it was 65 bucks for 6 runs And the beginner don't get trained for shit, or not even a beginner course to start out with. It's just the course and you go ahead and drive/drift through it, wtf.. how is starter going to improve? I am eager to learn but damn give starter a chance. All i want is an open area with some cones to learn, something basic. Damn I start wanting to move to South Cali now.

It says turn 7 paddock on the URL posted above... Turn 7 on the track was supposedly just a special event because it was part of hyperfest.
It would be nice if every event at sonoma was sort of like the day after the last hyperfest one (on sunday), with on track drifting. They had the small skidpad area and everything. Would have been a great event for even the first-timers. |
