So I did it... Fabric covered hood....Pics inside!!!
First of all If you don't like it that's your opinion but I am really digging it.
Just a little background. I picked up my 90 240 and it had been backed into. So the bumper is messed up and the hood was buckled among other thing. So I picked up a new hood, but it was faded and beat down and I am not ready to have the car painted so I needed a temp fix.I had seen a couple cars with fabric covered hood and I said why not... The total cost of this project was 5 dollars and about an hour of my time.. After looking around for fabric I couldn't find anything I liked and that was wide enough to cover my hood so I though to myself why not a bed sheet. So I found a design I liked and it happened to be on sale so I puled the trigger.. Let me know what you guys think.... Supplies..... 1 - Twin size Flatbed sheet.. $5 1 - Can on 3m Spray glue that I had SO here we go.... Here is my hood Trimming up the fabric and time to glue it down All DONE Last edited by jserman; 06-12-2010 at 02:17 AM.. |

you looked around for months?! MONTHS?! in that amount of time you couldn't earn enough fucking money to prep your hood and just paint it with some white fucking spray paint? hahaha fuck, fail. hey when you're super poor and you decide to live in your car you can just sleep on your hood cuz it's already got a sheet on it yo! just grab ur blankie and a pillow. rad. |

ok i give you some respect just because you stepped out of the box... But you all know the scene in cartoons where someone steps through a door and falling out in to the sky or black hole... That's what kind of happened here. This is a simple quickly fix but ultimately a waste of time. Look if you want a cheap fix that would fit the ratty front end find a friend that can graffiti and have them tag it up, Walmart has clearence spray most of the time, and think you can always change it up and add to it, and it can get fucking wet. I will say again I respect the creativity but watch out your first step was a doosie.

yo out of curiosity jus like carbon fiber fabric can this made set down and gel coated the same way using the same process... fuck it i think it looks bad ass but its not practical at all but if it can go through the same process as when they put down cf fabric then this would be a cheap and baller idea to having a vinyl made or having a custom paint job sprayed
to all the haters screw yall he had the balls to think it up and try it...help the kid perfect his idea |

thanks guys... Yea if I could some how seal it that would be awesome but I like the idea of changing the pattern every couple months...also it is scotch guarded so we will see how long it last...
I have some fabric left over and I want to do my hatch but I don't think I can so maybe some door inserts or shift boot.... and yes to cover the headliner would be awesome... |
