First point: If it was in Kansas all the time, it would be *HIGHLY* unfair to those near Kansas.... To be fair to everyone across the country, it would have to rotate from one part of the country to another every year.
Second: Work out what? Different tracks have different policies.
Third: Like I said, if you can't go, you can't go. If it was in Kansas every year, or the midwest, let's see: a 3200 or so mile roundtrip, 25MPG highway mileage (assuming you have a good car), that's about 128 gallons of gas. At $1.50 summertime prices for a gallon of gas, that's almost $200 of gas money for a person that wants to drive from SoCal. If that was one year, that would be fine... but every year, and it adds up.
The point of THIS YEAR'S CONVENTION was not to screw over the other parts of the country. It was to showcase 240SX owners, their community, and the Nissan community at large. I'm not going to defend myself anymore on this matter, but don't criticise me for having this event in SoCal because it is inconvenient for you. I couldn't drive to last year's event, so I *FLEW* out there. So did a couple other guys. Did they complain about the flying? No. Did the guys that drove out from Florida or California or New York complain? No.
Same goes for this year's event. There are folks flying in from around the country that aren't complaining. There are folks driving across the country that aren't complaining. I can only do so much to get people to go. I tried to make this event as glamorous as possible, in hopes that folks would be willing to drive to it. I tried to make it as worthwhile as possible, as affordable as possible, in hopes that there would be many 240SX enthusiasts that would want to attend in spite of the distance.
I suppose you can only do so much. If I can't "please" you enough to make you attend, then I apologize, but I'm not made of money... If I win the lottery or something, I'll pay for everyone's gas money, but until then, PAY FOR YOUR OWN GAS.
