thanks for the response, the paint on the other side of that crack has actually peeled away, and was cause by a leaky brake cylinder which probably stripped the paint on the engine bay on that side of the car allowing the rust, because the other side looks alot better

so that explains that though i dont understand why the fluid causes the crack
