well your pulling the distributor out of the old motor to go into the new. when you put it back in, it has to be installed so all the internal work together. it has to be set so it fires on the number one cylinder first. make sure the motor is at tdc (Top Dead Center). put in the distributor correctly, start the car, then adjust your timing to 20 degrees with a timing gun. and then re- adjust it with the tps unplugged.

you will find yourself pulling the distributor out multiple times because its off by a tooth but dont give up, you will eventually get it! GL
