I think the logo is put together well. It looks clean and that's important. It's amazing what a few effects can do for something so simple as text.
There's an example of the logo I made for my Team at
www.team-legacy.org it's the splash page but also our decals.
The splash page image sucks because I didn't turn the logo into a vector image, and that would have made it real smooth. Oh well. Since the logo you just made is the same as the decals, it's worth keeping.
