How else do you propose to do it?
And I'm pretty anal about this stuff, so if I deem a certain way the "best" way to do it, I'm gonna do it.
In either case, there's definitely more angle to be found in my setup, but to be honest, I don't think I'll ever need it, and getting there means spending more time and money on the car, and at this point, I don't want to go there, so that's another reason why I didn't "truly center the rack".
