Found out that the adjustment closer to the front of the motor is for a coarse adjustment, only use it if the other one runs of out adjustment range.

Lol, you got it the other way around.
Cylinders #'s are 1,2,3,4,5,6 From front to back.
Firing order is: 15 is too young. 36 is too old, 24 is just right. Counter clockwise hence, 153624.
#1 is cylinder is usually closest to radiator and you seem to have it right.
Best thing to do is redo the timing. You'd have to remove the plugs, hand turn the crank clockwise to Top dead center. Remove the oil pump insert it back, and make the dizzy rotor line up to #1 of the cap.
Sometimes a timing could be 180* off 90* off, which will sometimes still work, but may run like crap.
