my stock steelies with 205/55/15 FM-901s do NOT rub my coilovers (I have about 1/2" of space) and my 16x7 +35 wheels with 205/55/16 tires do NOT rub my coilovers (front) either.

what my 205/55/16 and 16x7 wheels DO rub, though, is the inner fender. At times, it rubs through the inner fender and into that relatively sharp edge/lip of the inner-fender directly above the wheel. You can see this sharp (and unnerving) edge if you take off the fender lining.

My rears are fine now, although I used to rub with my 205/55/15 tires on 15x7 +5 wheels. I have since "rolled" (or rather hammered) my rear quarter panels, and don't have rubbing (tire) problems.
