When I ordered mine I was told that the side skirts were too long to ship by sea but would fit on an airplane (
go figure). The problem was that they took up so much volume if they were in one piece and would make the shipping costs astronomical.
So by doing a bit of fiberglass work one is able to save a small fortune on shipping.
