KA24DE, pretty much stock

Weird noise that sounds like a turbo setup without a bov but more mutilated when I shift gears at high 3k low 4k rpm.

Thought it was a throwout bearing (maybe it is?) but I can make the noise come up by just revving it to those rpm levels and it'll slowly (2-3 seconds) fade away during deceleration.

If I make the noise while driving, i can make the noise die quicker by braking.

Vacuum lines? I had a friend listen under the hood and it seems to be from the middle of the firewall. Not exactly sure where though..

Anyone got suggestions?
