I think the Wii U is for the most part just going to continue doing its own thing like the Wii did and not really affect much. The Wii U is of no competition to the Xbox or PS4 in terms of power but if it follows in its older brothers footsteps it will do just fine. Yeah it may have smoked everyone in sales last generation but it was a hell of alot cheaper and generally accompanies a PS3 or a 360 in the entertainment center of most gamers.
Edit: Well never mind it may be a contender this time around. Apparently Xbox and PS4 preorder announcements boosted sales of the U almost 800% in the UK yesterday.
