question:
just for the sake of ruling things out...
does the sound change when you engage or disengage clutch pedal?
does the sound change when you press clutch and select a gear?
also, did you use the standard brass pilot bush or a 'needle bearing' style replacement?
I pulled my trans twice in 6 months because i was eating pilot bushings until i switched to the bearing style. although my whine only happened when the clutch was depressed.
