it was just the white/purple wire (that i found was supposed to be used in a writeup as the trigger) wasnt getting any power signal with the key on so i used the yellow w/ blue stripe i believe, that got a 12v signal so that triggered the relay and it started right up.

I had the same issue, I just jumped the battery to the fuel sending unit in the trunk, (My battery was relocated in the swap).
Did you ever get any further resolution as to a permanent solution, or did you maintain the hardwire setup? I don't really feel like installing a master switch in the car unless I have to or it's going to be ridiculously expensive o fix it.
