Those Japanese bugs fights are a little sickening to watch. I generally don't like watching any creature kill any creature for fun. If those battles happened by random chance in the wild, then so be it...but just for human entertainment...its questionable. But...considering the bugs are already dead and I won't be able to prevent them from dying...I'll watch anyway.
Anyway...the Giant Japanese Hornet has one big advantage over most of the competitors on the side...it attacks everything. Naturally those Hornets will instinctively kill anything that moves. Although the hornet's venom is extremely deadly in itself, it also has the mandibles that can rip apart smaller bugs pretty easily.
Pitting a bug like up again venom less mantises, spiders, and beetles is like putting a boxer up against a cop with a tazer. Not only that, but aside from the armor and strength, beetles don't really kill larger insect prey...so other than protecting itself...it really doesn't like fight. Neither do mantises...
The Hornet will go nuts no matter what. It only knows full aggression. There is no off switch.
The only reason the scorpions and centipedes win is because they've got really wicked venom and all it takes is a single bite or sting for it to take whatever.
Some of the crawfish vs beetle and numerous other fights were laughable...I'm not sure even the Hornet could kill a crawfish yes they declared the beetle the winner...just because the crawfish/lobster/shrimp thing backed down.
