Points Scored
Drivers score points for finishing in the top eight positions in each
race during the season. There will also be a couple of bonus point
opportunities. If you pick the series champion for ALL FOUR SERIES
correctly you will get a 25 point bonus. If you get three out of the
four correct, you will get a 5 point bonus. Additionally, if you pick
any of the final top three finishers in the World Rally Championship,
you will get bonus points. They will be 25 for picking first, 15 points
for second, and 5 points for third. And finally, sometime in April
there will be a special mailing with the drivers list for the INDY 500.
Each team will be allowed to pick a 5th driver for the 500 due to it's
importance in the "grand scheme" of things.
Points will be scored in each of the four series as follows:
Formula 1, CART, and IRL - 14/10/8/6/5/4/3/2 for
1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th/6th/7th/8th
NASCAR - 8/7/6/5/4/3/2/1 for 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/5th/6th/7th/8th
F1, CART, NASCAR, IRL "Series Champion" bonus - 25 points for picking
all 4, 5 points for picking 3 of 4
WRC 1st place - 25 points, 2nd place - 15 points, 3rd place - 5 points
BECAUSE OF SPECIAL CIRCOMSTANCES IN FORMULA 1 this year, there is only
one choice in group 1. That means that all teams will get M.Schumacher.
While this is good for team spirit, it lessens the differences between
the teams, so we have decided to allow an additional pick from group 2.
Essentially you still have a 4 person F1 team, along with your
complementary M. Schumacher pick. THIS MEANS THE F1 TEAMS THIS YEAR
WILL HAVE 5 DRIVERS TOTAL!
BECAUSE OF SPECIAL CIRCOMSTANCES IN CART this year, there are only 3
groups to choose from. Each team will get an additional pick from group
2 to make a total of 4 drivers.
