Everything I've seen says, yeah, the dimensions are right so getting it to fit isn't the problem. But wiring it up is still mystifying most ppl. You can't run either the Porsche or Audi ECU, so say goodbye to a working gauge cluster and other niceties. And since the 4.2L is a pretty complex motor, most doubt that megasquirt will be able to operate it fully, causing a big loss in power.

Seems a lot like the early issues we encountered trying to run VQ engines in 240's. I want the 4.2L 6spd 986 idea to work, but I can't find any examples of anyone getting it done...
