yeah... that just make sure you slop it on good and thick and all the way around.
it's uber ghetto but FTW if you're going to trash the exhaust soon anyway.
I suppose you could take it a bit further and unbolt that part of the exhaust and throw that stuff on thick between the two pipes, then bolt it back up before it hardens... In my case the studs were too rusted to do that and would have needed to be drilled out...
I did something similar to that on another car. I had an 02 WRX and I couldn't get the gasket to seal for the life of me so a plumber friend of mind put some high temp goop on the flange faces, we bolted it back up without the gasket and the thing was like a single solid pipe.
