driver side tail light problem
 

Hey everyone somethings up with my driver side tail light in my s14.
i thought the tail was out so i replaced the bulb and it still didn't fix itself so i wiggled the connector to the tail light and than the running light turned on.
So i thought i had fixed it but its just the running light the brake light isnt working.
Does anyone know of a fix?

wiggling the connector would lead my to believe you harness is at fault. you have a break somewhere.

Can i buy a new harness for just the tail lights?

You can get a used one but if the break isn't at the bulb harness then you didn't fix the issue

well its only the one side and if i jiggle the wire like i said it starts working..
i have no idea where to ever start with tracing the issue electrical especially wiring harness on vehicles is not my forte..
could it be a loose ground? should i get a volt meter and start testing the wires? replace fuses idk.

Replacing fuses wouldn't help . A fuse is either blown or not. Multi meter is going to be your best friend. Tracing wires isn't hard since they are color coded just time consuming.

Lol , I've had my fair share of problems damn wiring gremlins, pretty much got fed up and learned how to trace wire with the aid of the FSM.

Gotta be the bulb socket itself, the metal tabs at the bottom and the side get pushed down too far over time and don't contact the bulb properly. Take a small pick and gently pry those tabs up/out to try and regain proper contact with the bulb, also use a SMALL amount of dielectric grease to cover the base of the bulb, good luck :)
