need s13 help
 

so i have an s13 w/sr20det and it was working perfectly fine, until it died on me a couple of days ago. so when i start it theres like a loud spark sound, but it starts. at first the engine's idle was hectic, as in it would try to save itself from dying, with black smoke coming out of the exhaust. people were telling me it could be the maf, but still same problem. any suggestions?

did u try n clean the maf. i think black smoke means u r running rich. if cleaning the maf with maf cleaner dusnt work try checking ur o2 sensor. if its dirty it will send weird signals to ur ecu causing ur car to run rich.

Also check your IC pipes. Black smoke clouds coming out usually mean boost leak.

Do you still have the stock plastic front fender gaurds in? if not check to see if your ECU got wet, this maybe your problem.

fluck my ecu isn't blinking, do you think i need a new one? but im pretty sure its boost leak or that my turbo blew.. :smash:

yeah it sounds like your maf like they said, or a vacuum leak. it could be as simple as a missing ground wire also.
