Thats what i got on a Z32 rim, a 225/50/16 tire. Has anyone had issues of that size tire rubbing on the strut/shock? it looks like its just slightly rubbing it, SLIGHTLY, but still. Maybe i need an alignment? Idk...

by the way, its my drivers side front tire (the other side isnt complete yet) but i assume ill have the same problem on the other side

I have 225/55/16 tires on mine and the weight that was put on the inside of the rim was rubbing on the strut so I have to run 5mm spacer in the front two. However, tire cleared with no problem.

now that i think of it, it actually does sound like metal on metal contact. How much are 5mm spacers?

If I am not mistaken they are like $7 each; however, I got them for free.

where can i pick up a set?

call up auto parts store like Kragen, checkers, autozone, NAPA, Baxters....


I'm running 12mm spacers with my z32s (225/50/R16)

careful! u may need longer studs if u put on too many spacers.

Longer studs are hard to find! I ended up getting NISMO ones which were an arm and a leg, but it was on short notice and I had no other choice.

Nope you'll be fine. I have 5mm spacers on my car with stock studs and i have no problems.

Anything more than 5mm, then yeah you'll have to get longer studs.

I have a 225/50/16 tire on my wheels 16x8(+35). No rubbing.

if all thats rubbing is the weight, have them do a balance with tape weights. or just take it off.

it could also be the inner fender well, that plastic crap if you've still got it... i run an identical tire size and thats where my problem was...

i can physically see where the rim/tire hits the strut

1) I cant imagine anyone running anything OTHER than tape weights

2) Low buck spacers suck and typically cause issues like wheel shimmy and overheated/squeeling brakes.

Often times, minor camber adjustment can fix rubbing issues -- you may want to inspect your alignment kids.
